What We Do
 

For more than 50 years, Portals has provided a community-based mental health system of care that provides comprehensive mental health services and social rehabilitation support to individuals with mental illness – many with a co-occurring substance abuse disorder.  Portals continues to be a leader in developing programs that meet the individual needs of our Members.  

 

Current Portals Programs include:

 

Intensive Community Services (ICS)

Helps adult men and women with chronic mental illness – many with a history of repeated inpatient admissions – to regain control of their lives and reintegrate into the community. (more)

 

Housing Services

Provides opportunities for members to find appropriate housing and supports them with full rehabilitative services as they progress to full community integration. (more)

 

Dual Diagnosis Transitional Residential Services

Provides transitional residential accommodations and on-site supportive mental health and case management services for Portals members with mental illness and co-occurring substance abuse disorders. (more)  

 

Employment Services

Offers a range of focused activities to members, including pre-employment services, work adjustment, job development and placement, and ongoing support. (more)

 

Workforce Unlimited

A Portals social enterprise operation, the Workforce Unlimited program provides job training for members, and offers them transitional employment on work crews so that they may prepare for competitive work in the community. (more)

 

Transitional Age Youth (TAY) Program

Offers supportive case management and rehabilitation services to transitional age youth with a diagnosed mental illness who need to stabilize, prepare for independent living and ultimately become self-sufficient. (more)
